Zyban and NRT
If you think there might be a reason why you shouldn't take Zyban, or if you are thinking of taking Zyban and NRT you should discuss it with your doctor.

There are no regulations stopping Zyban and NRT being used together but there is concern that the combination of drugs may increase your blood pressure.

If you have stopped smoking and have been using NRT you should persevere with it because it is too late to get any useful effect from Zyban.

However, things can work the other way around - if you have started on Zyban and do not like it or are getting side effects you could talk to your GP, pharmacist or specialist stop smoking service about stopping the Zyban and switching to NRT.

Antidepressants
If you are already taking another antidepressant it may not be safe for you to take Zyban as well.

If you take antidepressants and NRT hasn't worked for you and you are keen to try Zyban, you will need to discuss the possible risks with your doctor.
